Macleay Island Craft Group
Macleay Island Craft Group was formed in 1982 when four local residents shared their time and skills in a private home on a regular basis.
What began as almost a social gathering of women with similar interests, grew in popularity and developed into a much larger group.
Today members currently meet at the Macleay Island Community Hall on Monday mornings from 9-12. Many of them also exhibit their wares at the monthly Lions Community Markets held on the 1st Saturday of each month.
In addition the group enjoys two Bus Tours and Two Christmas events each year.
On several occasions they have exhibited and donated some spectacular craft (mostly to raise funds for Charity).
To celebrate their 25 year Anniversary, the Craft Group produced a Cookery Book with each member contributing recipes. This too was to raise money for Charity.
