The launch of an anthology by island writers

After the very successful two ‘Water Stories’ courses on Macleay Island, writer Natalie Sprite has launched the resulting anthology ‘Water Stories – A collection of work by writers from the Southern Moreton Bay Islands.’

The evening at The Blue Parrot Cafe on Macleay Island on 27th February was attended by Kim Richards MP, our Mayor Karen Williams and Councillor Mark Edwards as well as many islanders.

The evening was organised by members of the Macleay Island Inspirational Writers Group, many of whom attended the two courses run by Natalie over the past two years. During the six week courses she talked about  aspects of literary craft and then led a meditation, followed by a writing exercise. In this way, writers found their voice, developed a body of work and recognised the power and beauty of their own stories.

Let us hope Natalie continues to offer similar classes to the writers of the Bay Islands.
