In the main event, first prize in the male section went to Martin Harberland, second to John Docray and third to Ben Allen. First prize in the ladies section went to Denise Drury, followed by Sally Clark and Chris Gissing.
Unfortunately, there was only one entry for the Relay Event so this was cancelled. Now is the time to get a team together and start practicing for next year.
The Fun Event was not a timed event. Competitors had to paddle to a secret destination (Parsons Point) and back, whilst collecting clues along the way. All contestants with the correct answer had their names put in a draw and the first names pulled out were Gail Day of Husk Fresh Fruit & Vegies and Mike Papalardo of Bay Island Times in a twin kayak. Second prize went to a three-man kayak team of Amy Austin, Eric Gao and Melody Lee, third prize to a solo kayaker Zite Ji, whilst fourth prize went to a twin kayak manned by Garry Austin and Kuan Wen Chen. |
